The People's Reciplex

Dirty Pilgrim

This dark little treasure was concocted late last Thanksgiving. It was well after dinner, and the stragglers were just settling down to watch the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex video. (The meal was delicious and traditional, the entertainment was not.) If you’ve seen the video, then you will understand why I must ask, “Where ARE we?”
Hot spiced wine–(molling spice, cinnamon and, preferably, fresh satusuma oranges in a crockpot. Oh, and using cheap, sweet wine really is recommended. (Screwcaps, people!))
Dark rum. Meyer’s Dark is what we usually have on hand.
Tonic . I prefer the Canadian stuff.
Pour, in roughly equal proportions, over ice. (The wine should be given time to cool.) As with any mixed beverage, tonic goes last. I’m sure many of you are ‘huzzing’ (that gag-y involuntary shudder) but really, this is a nice wintery treat. The rum and the spiced wine work to warm the mind and the belly while the tonic lifts this tasty accident out of the vomitorium. Drop in some satsuma slices. Ground cinnamon on top is NOT recommended. Neither is Vodka. Enjoy!
