Chile Con Queso Dip
This can take care of a cheese craving with mucho satisfaction. I thought tasted a bit tomatoey and the consistency was a little thick… but other Reciplex users requested it’s Danal entry.
1 can tomato (diced)
1 tomato (diced)
1 can green chiles
1 tsp. olive oil
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 block fat-free cream cheese
1 tsp. chili powder
6 oz. American cheese (cubed)
some to taste cilantro (fresh)
1/2 cup onion (chopped)
Saute onion and garlic in oil over medium heat for 4 minutes. Add cream cheese and cook until cheese melts, stirring constantly. Add undrained tomatoes, undrained green chiles, and chili powder and bring to a boil. Stir in American cheese, reduce heat and simmer until cheese melts, stirring constantly. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips.
